Foot exercise matters!

Foot exercise matters!

By adding a few simple exercises to your daily routine, you can improve your balance, mobility and flexibility. It will also help you to reduce the risk of having pain or getting injured. Your feet may not always get the attention they deserve, even though they actually are the foundation of all our movements. Make sure to take care of them and keep your feet strong and flexible with slow and gentle stretches!

 1

Place a rubber band around the foot, then press the foot down toward the ground. Do this 10-20 times per foot. This exercise strengthens the muscles in the foot and increases the mobility of the ankle.

 2

Roll a massage ball under the arch of your foot for a few minutes. This exercise is especially beneficial for people who suffer from plantar fasciitis or heel spurs, but it can also help keep the muscles on the bottom of the foot flexible and supple.

 3

Put a towel on the floor and try crumpling the towel with your toes.

 4

Flex your feet so that your toes point up to the ceiling, hold for a few seconds, then point your toes down towards the floor. Repeat a couple of times.

 5

Spread your toes, hold that position for a few seconds, relax and repeat.

This is a good exercise to activate the small muscles in front of the foot, that help support and stabilize the bones and transverse arch.

 6

Stand up and lift your body up by standing on your toes. Then lowering yourself back down. Repeat this exercise a couple of times. A classic exercise that strengthens the feet and lower legs.
